De ambitieuze managementconsultant en alleenstaande vader Edgar Strack probeert wanhopig om gezins- en professionele behoeften met elkaar te verzoenen. Maar het lukt hem niet. Zijn drie puberkinderen zijn gefrustreerd, zijn nieuwe vriendin Barbara klaagt, hij wordt verraden door een concurrent in het bedrijf. In zijn nood huurt Edgar de pittige tolk Ana, die hij net als collega had ontslagen, in als nieuwe oppas. En zie: ineens loopt alles weer op rolletjes. Ware het niet dat er onverwachte gevoelens tussen Edgar en Ana binnensluipen.
