Tras fiestas decembrinas, pacientes diabéticos tienen altos niveles de azúcar



Durante las celebraciones de fin de año, al menos seis de cada 10 pacientes con alguna enfermedad como diabetes e hipertensión abandona su tratamiento, lo que genera que en enero lleguen a los consultorios con altos niveles de azúcar y presión.

Especialistas del Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social, indican que se percatan del abandono hasta las primeras consultas del primer mes del año, cuando el paciente registra alteraciones en su estado de salud. 

Por lo que durante enero buscan estabilizar la salud de los pacientes, con nuevas dietas, y un puntual tratamiento farmacológico, a fin de evitar cuadros de hipertensión o bien comas diabéticos. 

Por entidad federativa, Campeche (14.0%), Hidalgo (12.8%) y Tamaulipas (12.8%) son los estados con las prevalencias más altas de población de 20 años y más con diagnóstico médico previo de diabetes.

En tanto, a nivel nacional más de 30 millones de personas viven con hipertensión arterial; es decir, una de cada cuatro tiene este padecimiento.
