tesoro literario en la biblioteca estatal



La Biblioteca Pública Central Estatal (BPCE), situada en el Centro Cultural Mexiquense, en Toluca, resguarda un tesoro literario en su Fondo Reservado. Con alrededor de 2 mil 500 ejemplares que datan desde el año 1500 hasta títulos contemporáneos, este espacio alberga libros antiguos, primeras ediciones de clásicos y títulos que en su tiempo fueron prohibidos.

Ángeles Garza Tapia, supervisora de Bibliotecas, destacó la singularidad del Fondo Reservado, que incluye libros del siglo XVI y XVII, encuadernados en madera o pergamino. La temática abarca desde obras religiosas en latín hasta textos de medicina y diccionarios en español. Este acervo, que en su mayoría fue donado por conventos en 1860, está abierto al público y es consultable con precauciones.

“Tener un libro en las manos del siglo XVI es encantador”, expresó Garza Tapia, quien resaltó la importancia de preservar estos libros, algunos de los cuales tienen sellos grabados con hierro caliente o tinta especial. El Fondo Reservado no solo es un espacio para investigadores, sino también para cualquier persona curiosa por conocer estas obras literarias llenas de historia.

Entre las joyas de este fondo se encuentran primeras ediciones de obras relacionadas con la Segunda Guerra Mundial, así como clásicos como «Peter Pan» de James M. Barrie y «Orgullo y Prejuicio» de Jane Austen. Este rincón literario está abierto de lunes a sábado de 10:00 a 18:00 horas y los domingos de 10:00 a 15:00 horas, invitando a los amantes de la literatura a explorar su fascinante colección.
