Meghan Markle accused of lying about homemade waffles

Sussex scam?

Meghan Markle is coming under fire after making homemade green waffles to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, took to Instagram on Monday to celebrate the holiday. She shared several videos that showed her making waffle mix from scratch with her and Prince Harry’s children: Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.

“About this morning…” the “With Love, Meghan” host wrote alongside a clip of her stirring the green batter.

“We love a theme,” she added alongside a shot of matching green drinks.

However, some eagle-eyed social media users believe Markle lied about the holiday-themed breakfast she made with her kids — because the finished waffles did not look like the pattern of the waffle iron they were using.

“Did you see that what she put in the maker is not how the waffle would [look] if she indeed cooked them,” one person wrote.

“Meghan Markle’s relentless compulsion to lie about everything is baffling — even over something as trivial as a waffle,” another critic added. “She posted a video of herself using a waffle maker with a divider, yet the so-called ‘homemade’ waffle she presented looked exactly like a store-bought one, missing the dividers that should have been there.”

“I immediately saw the difference when I saw the video,” another viewer seethed. “I couldn’t grasp the reason to lie about waffles. What kind of person needs to do that?”

A fourth critic claimed to have found the “fake” waffles Markle used and allegedly tried to pass off as homemade.

“We have all seen Meghan’s fake waffle iron waffles she posted on Instagram,” they wrote. “Not the correct lines on them from the waffle iron. She didn’t fresh make them for her kids. She used these frozen waffles.”

“Why the big deal?” they continued. “Because her post is showing she made it all from scratch. She is a total manipulative liar. About everything….”

“Exactly!” another X user agreed. “Why fake something so trivial?”

Meanwhile, others weren’t so critical — and some social media users even rushed to Markle’s defense.

“She obviously didn’t, you’re just picking and choosing a picture you wanna hate on,” one person commented.

“You shouldn’t get upset about waffles,” another defender wrote.

“Cute how you cut off the last image of her/Harry’s waffle quite quick…” a third person wrote, suggesting that Markle created the homemade waffles for herself and Prince Harry before giving Archie and Lilibet the store-bought ones.

According to People, it’s possible the waffle iron seen in Markle’s St. Patrick’s Day videos was a gift to Archie from Queen Elizabeth before her death in 2022.

Prince Harry confirmed the late queen once gifted his son a waffle machine during an appearance on “The Late Late Show With James Corden.”

“My grandmother asked us what Archie wanted for Christmas, and Meg said a waffle maker,” the Duke of Sussex told Corden, 46, in February 2021. “She sent us a waffle maker for Archie. So breakfast now, Meg makes up a beautiful organic mix in the waffle maker.”

Prince Harry added, “Archie wakes up in the morning and goes ‘waffle.’”

Markle’s rep did not immediately respond to the Post’s request for comment.
