Más de 8 mil visitantes honran a sus difuntos en palacio de gobierno



El altar estará expuesto hasta el martes 7 de noviembre en un horario de 9:00 a 18:00 horas.

Esta ofrenda, una iniciativa de la Gobernadora Delfina Gómez, es un tributo a las tradiciones y raíces de los pueblos originarios de la región. Al entrar, los visitantes son recibidos por un arco de flor de cempasúchil, simbolizando el sol y la luz que guían a los fieles difuntos en su camino.

Siguiendo el camino del tapete de aserrín, los visitantes llegan al altar donde cinco catrinas enaltecen a las mujeres y a los pueblos originarios del Estado de México: matlatzinca, mazahua, otomí, tlahuica y nahua. También se puede apreciar al xoloitzcuintle, que según la cosmogonía prehispánica, guía a las almas al Mictlán, el lugar del descanso eterno.

El altar principal está confeccionado con una variedad de semillas, simbolizando la tierra de donde provienen los productos básicos de la alimentación. Todos estos elementos se unen en un espectáculo visual lleno de sincretismo entre distintas creencias y tradiciones.

Para fomentar esta celebración, la Gobernadora Delfina Gómez invita a los mexiquenses a apreciar este gran trabajo realizado por más de 100 artistas, artesanos y productores agropecuarios de toda la región, quienes han contribuido con piezas de barro, cartonería y alfarería.

La Ofrenda Monumental de Día de Muertos seguirá abierta al público hasta el 7 de noviembre en un horario de 09:00 a 18:00 horas.
