Jenna Ortega says Marvel cut her lines from ‘Iron Man 3’

Blink and you’ll miss her.

Jenna Ortega spoke to Entertainment Tonight in a recent interview about her tiny role in “Iron Man 3,” and how she has no interest in appearing in another Marvel project.

“I’m hoping that we can create this world where we can get Jenna Ortega into the Marvel universe,” the interviewer said to Ortega, 22, and Paul Rudd as the pair promoted their comedy horror film “Death of a Unicorn.”

“I did it once,” Ortega responded. “It was one of the first jobs I ever did.”

She continued, “They took all my lines out. I’m in ‘Iron Man 3’ for a quick second. I take up the frame, I have one leg and I’m the vice president’s daughter.”

Ortega indeed makes a seconds-long appearance in the 2013 superhero film. She has no speaking lines as the daughter of Vice President Rodriguez (Miguel Ferrer).

Rudd, who has played Ant-Man in 5 Marvel movies, interjected to share his optimism that Ortega could return to the MCU.

“Marvel is very good at like, kind of laying those bread crumbs,” the 55-year-old actor said. “And so it might very well be that you come back. That they are going to create something for you, cause they should be so lucky to have Jenna Ortega in their franchise.”

But Ortega responded, “They even took my name away.”

“I count that, then I move on,” the “Wednesday” star added.

“Iron Man 3” was directed by Shane Black and starred Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stéphanie Szostak, James Badge Dale, William Sadler, Jon Favreau, and Ben Kingsley. The film grossed nearly $1.3 billion at the worldwide box office.

The superhero flick was Ortega’s first credited acting role in film. She’s since achieved major success and fame thanks to her roles in “You,” “The Fallout,” “Scream” and “Scream VI” and “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.”

Her most recognizable role at this point in her career is as Wednesday Addams in the hit Netflix series that returns for Season 2 later this year.

“Some of the footage that we shot in ‘Wednesday’ season 2, especially in the last episode, is some of my favorite footage from the show,” the actress shared to ET. “Which is very exciting for me.”

Ortega added of executive producer Tim Burton, “Tim really had a ball. Everything is very graphic and it’s very exciting and inspiring to work with someone like that who gets you excited about the shots that you’re doing every day.”
