Espacio Violeta en la Biblioteca Pública Central



Espacio Violeta de la Biblioteca Pública Central Estatal, albergado en el Centro Cultural Mexiquense, se erige como un sitio dedicado a la reflexión y conciencia sobre la violencia hacia las mujeres.

Inaugurado en 2022, conmemorando el Día Internacional de la Erradicación de la Violencia hacia las Mujeres y las Niñas, este espacio promueve la lectura femenina y textos que contribuyen a la perspectiva de género para forjar una sociedad más igualitaria.

Abierto de lunes a sábado de 09:00 a 18:00 horas y domingo de 09:00 a 14:00 horas, el Espacio Violeta se presenta como un refugio de lectura, debate y encuentro. Su extensa colección incluye obras dirigidas a romper roles y estereotipos de género, prevenir la violencia de género, visibilizar a las mujeres y mostrar nuevas masculinidades.

Entre los títulos disponibles se encuentran «El color púrpura» de Alice Walker, «La gran casa» de Nicole Krauss, «Cuando vuelan las palomas» de Lucía López, y «Mexicanas en pie de lucha», un reportaje sobre el estado machista y las violencias. Estos libros, destinados a todas las edades, pueden consultarse en el Espacio Violeta o ser llevados a casa para compartir la experiencia de lectura.

Este espacio, ubicado en Bulevar Jesús Reyes Heroles #302, Delegación San Buenaventura, Toluca, Estado de México, también acepta donaciones de libros escritos por mujeres y para mujeres.

Su horario de visita es de lunes a viernes de 09:00 a 19:00 horas y sábado y domingo de 09:00 a 14:00 horas. Un rincón que invita a explorar la diversidad literaria y a contribuir a la construcción de una sociedad más equitativa.
