Día Mundial de la Obesidad






Este lunes tiene lugar una de las conmemoraciones en las que toca voltear a vernos de forma individual en nuestro cuerpo y nuestros hábitos alimenticios y de vida. Es el Día Mundial de la Obesidad. El propósito es que estemos informados sobre los riesgos del peso excesivo y para eso debemos saber que sobrepeso es un peso corporal más alto del considerado saludable para la estatura y composición del cuerpo y la obesidad es la grasa acumulada. Así pues, los riesgos de la obesidad son de enfermedades cardíacas, diabetes tipo 2, hipertensión y problemas articulares, aunado a que afecta la calidad de vida, empezando por la movilidad y la salud mental.

En México el 70 por ciento de los habitantes padecemos sobrepeso y casi una tercera parte obesidad si buen en algunos casos puede deberse a factores genéticos y  ambientales.

Nos guste o no tenemos que aplicarnos y mantener una dieta equilibrada y realizar actividad física regular. Podemos ayudarnos de profesionales de la salud, como médicos, nutriólogos y psicólogos. Y es sumamente importante saber que cada persona puede tener necesidades y desafíos únicos en relación con la obesidad. Así que descarta las dietas en internet o porque te lo dijeron pues no funciona. Hay por ahí una frase que dice “no es el peso que pierdes, es la vida que ganas”; otras se refieren al respeto por uno mismo y al amor propio.
