Día del Orgullo LGBT



Hoy 28 de junio, como cada año, es el Día Internacional del Orgullo LGBT+ que busca la tolerancia, igualdad y dignidad de las personas gays, lesbianas, bisexuales y trans. En la Encuesta Nacional sobre Diversidad Sexual y de Género de 2021, del Inegi, cinco millones de personas, equivalentes al 5.1 por ciento de la población se identificaron por pertenecer a esta diversidad sexual.

Pero como lo intenta hacer esta fecha las expresiones de rechazo prevalecen mediante discriminación, exclusión, acoso (en sus formas de insulto y burlas), discurso de odio y violencia física (golpizas y la muerte).

Nos encontramos por lo tanto, en un escenario de normas culturales y religiosas, estereotipos, falta de educación y conocimiento, miedo a lo desconocido y presiones sociales que mantienen las actitudes negativas hacia estas personas. No acabamos de darnos cuenta que todos merecemos ser tratados con dignidad y respeto, que deben garantizarse las mismas oportunidades y derechos, y que el rechazo tiene efectos devastadores en la autoestima, la salud mental y la calidad de vida de las personas LGBT+. Los pertenecientes a esta comunidad no están enfermos o tienen trastornos mentales, se sugiere que existe una base biológica y genética, que en la mayoría de los casos se descubre de forma natural y gradual, y no es algo que se pueda cambiar por voluntad o elección. Así pues, nos toca dar pasos de respeto y tolerancia como son leer, escuchar experiencias, reflexionar sobre los propios prejuicios, ponerse en su lugar, intervenir en situaciones de discriminación, no usar lenguaje ofensivo, educar a otros, etcétera. La tolerancia es fundamental para que todos podamos vivir de forma justa.
