Día de la Mujer Mexicana



Aunque probablemente no lo habías oído, hoy es Día de la Mujer Mexicana. Cada 15 de febrero desde 1960 se tiene en cuenta esta fecha como reconocimiento del voto y los derechos políticos de las mujeres nacidas en este país. Quienes impulsaron el festejo son la escritora Maruxa Vilalta Contreras y Amalia González Caballero Ledón, la primera embajadora que tuvo México, y diversas organizaciones de la sociedad civil.

En el recuento histórico tenemos próceres o eminencias como Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez, Leona Vicario, Carmen Serdán y Elvira Carrillo Puerto. Y en nuestros días están científicas, académicas, profesionistas y técnicas de todos los campos, incluyendo deportistas que con su entrega, disciplina y visión impactan en el desarrollo de nuestro país. Pero también hay que decir que la mujer mexicana se distingue por su valentía, autenticidad y fuerza para enfrentar lo que la vida le pone delante.

Hoy toca honrar a las mujeres que han desafiado normas y buscado un mejor futuro para todas, pero también a aquellas que de manera cotidiana aportan a su entorno inmediato. Esas que genuinamente llamamos morra, chamaca, chava, escuincla, muchacha, carnala, hermana y manita. Muchas felicidades a todas las mujeres mexicanas en su día.
