Con el nuevo gobierno estatal, activistas tienen un balance alentador con relación a riesgos






Durante este 2023 un activista en pro de los derechos ambientales en el Estado de México fue asesinado, se trata de Álvaro Arvizu, defensor del agua y de agroecología, quién fue ultimado el pasado 19 de junio por un grupo de personas no identificadas. 

Los hechos se dieron  en las instalaciones del Centro para la Sustentabilidad Incalli Ixcahuicopa (Centli), en el municipio de Tlalmanalco, hecho por el cual ocho personas solicitaron protección a través del mecanismo estatal, así lo confirmó Antonio Lara Duque, activista y abogado del del Centro de Derechos Humanos Zeferino Ladrillero. 

Agregó en el marco del Día de los Defensores de Derechos Humanos, que actualmente en el Estado de México, se tiene un balance alentador con relación a los riesgos que viven los activistas de la entidad, esto a partir de la llegada de la Gobernadora Delfina Gómez. 

Explicó que hace seis años había 18 personas presas por su activismo y hoy en día solo es una la que se encuentra en prisión. 

Reconoció que las amenazas son las prácticas sistemáticas que ejercen principalmente los municipios y sus direcciones de seguridad pública, en contra de los defensores de derechos humanos en el Estado de México.
