It ended already for Jenny Slate.
While promoting her new FX miniseries “Dying for Sex,” the 42-year-old actress told the Hollywood Reporter that she won’t discuss the legal war between her “It Ends With Us” co-stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.
“I don’t have anything to say about that,” Slate said in response to the outlet asking her to compare making the two projects in the interview published Thursday.
“Everything is its own thing. I poured my heart into this work, and every minute of [‘Dying for Sex’] was important to me, and I just want to talk about that,” she said.
But Slate did acknowledge that she’s likely going to be asked about the legal drama on her press tour.
“Anyone can ask anything,” she said, adding, “but my only responsibility is to speak about the work I’m there to promote. It was so important to me to get this job, so why would I spend time talking about anything but that?”
Slate played Allysa, the sister of Baldoni’s character Ryle, in “It Ends With Us.”
At the time of the film’s release in August, rumors swirled of a feud between Lively, 37, and Baldoni, 40, as they refused to appear together to promote the flick. Slate and the rest of the cast promoted the movie with Lively.
In December, Lively filed a legal complaint against Baldoni (who also directed the film) and accused him of sexual harassment and allegedly orchestrating a p.r. smear campaign against her.
Slate showed support for the “Gossip Girl” star in a statement at the time.
“As Blake Lively’s castmate and friend, I voice my support as she takes action against those reported to have planned and carried out an attack on her reputation,” the comedian told Today.
“Blake is a leader, loyal friend and a trusted source of emotional support for me and so many who know and love her,” Slate continued. “What has been revealed about the attack on Blake is terribly dark, disturbing and wholly threatening. I commend my friend, I admire her bravery, and I stand by her side.”
But Slate has been silent about the legal battle as it’s gotten more intense over the past few months.
Lively officially sued the “Jane the Virgin” alum in December, again alleging sexual harassment. The following month, Baldoni filed a $400 million countersuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and accused them of defamation.
Baldoni also released evidence such as raw footage of a dancing scene from “It Ends With Us” and his alleged text messages with the couple that he claims prove his innocence.
Brandon Sklenar, who played Atlas in the film, similarly backed Lively when she filed her legal complaint against Baldoni. But like Slate, Sklenar, 34, has dodged questions about the legal battle following Baldoni’s defense.
“I just want people to remember why we made the movie in the first place and what it stands for, just keeping the focus on that,” Sklenar said on “CBS Mornings” last month, after Gayle King asked the actor if he’s “team Blake” or “team Justin.”
“That movie meant so much to me,” Sklenar added. “It’s unfortunate that things get taken away from what the ethos of that thing is, and it gets convoluted.”
